Learning continuity cycle

Download-first with planned synchronisation windows continuity plan

3 × 45 minutes · 135 minutes per week

  1. Step 1

    Prepare while connected

Open the next lesson, copy the learning outcomes and download only approved text, workbook and reference materials needed for this cycle.

Safe evidence: A short task list containing no passwords, identity documents or private employer information.

  2. Step 2

Study offline or with low data

Use 45-minute text-first blocks: retrieval practice, worked examples and a short written explanation.

Safe evidence: Dated notes that distinguish original work, source material and unanswered questions.

  3. Step 3

    Validate before synchronising

Review the work against the stated rubric, remove secrets and personal data, and mark anything that still needs human feedback.

Safe evidence: A sanitised evidence summary plus the original local work retained under the learner's control.

  4. Step 4

    Synchronise deliberately

Use a planned connection window to submit the smallest necessary evidence, confirm receipt and capture the next action.

Safe evidence: Submission reference, review status and next review date—not a duplicate archive of sensitive files.

  5. Step 5

    Recover when access fails

Continue with the downloaded task list and record the interruption. Do not repeatedly submit or create duplicate evidence records.

Safe evidence: One continuity note showing what was completed offline and what still needs synchronisation.

Continuity and privacy safeguards

  • Keep account credentials separate from downloaded learning materials.
  • Prefer text-first materials, short headings and one task per screen; use larger text or assistive settings where needed.
  • Never download identity documents, right-to-work evidence, payment details or confidential employer records into a learning pack.
  • Check the source, licence, version and review date before relying on downloaded material.
  • A continuity plan supports access; it does not prove attendance, competence or completion by itself.
